Cancer Dance 2

As promised, the second of a series of dances I’ll be creating while I heal. Today’s exploration of movement is to a song by Alabama Shakes called “Hold On.” The second round of chemotherapy has taken a lot of my energy, but this evening I woke up from the haze and I was ready for two things – nachos from Taco Bell and my second cancer dance! Ha! Each day gets better, and I’m grateful for the medicine because no matter how icky I feel, you better believe I am holding on. Thank you for your continued love and prayers!

So, bless my heart and bless yours too,
I don’t know where I’m gonna go,
Don’t what what I’m gonna do.
Must be somebody up above saying come on (Estee),
You got to come on up!
You got to hold on.
Yeah you got to hold on.

    1. Hey Estee, it’s Deb Barnes, Chelsea’s mom. It has been a long time since we have seen you, but I just heard the news yesterday about your cancer. What a fighter you are!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Give each other big hugs from us. Your reflections are so open and honest. I smiled and cried at the same time. It sounds like you are an inspiration to all of your students. So proud of the young lady you have become.
